End of the School Year Wrap Up AKA Thank Goodness Summer is FINALLY Here!

The end of May marked the ending of many things for our family. It was the end of T-ball, the end of soccer and the end of the school year! We love having our boys play sports but after a month and a half of juggling two T-ball games and a soccer game every week we are very excited to have our evenings back. This all coincided with the end of school so all of a sudden we have LOTS of free time. And I love it.

As I mentioned before, keeping Camden entertained and off the field during T-ball games was a struggle. And it continued to be a struggle right up to the very end. He is just so anxious to play and be one of the big boys. It makes me excited for when it will finally be his turn to play in a couple of years.

Brady and Ryan were on the same T-ball team this year with Zach as their coach. We were on the same team with several little boys from our neighborhood. In fact, we all practically live on the same street! It was so fun.

Ryan was feeling a little under the weather at the last game so he did not want his picture taken. Brady was kind enough to play along and let me get an individual shot. What a cutie.

This is the best shot I could get of Ryan. (He is the one running off the base.) I think he had a fun season this year and was a real help to Zach. We had a young team this year and it was nice to have at least one player who knew what he was doing. I think Ryan will be really excited to try machine-pitch out next Spring.

These little buddies make me so happy. :)

The boys have been playing a lot of Legos lately. Camden likes to play along. And by play along I mean take whatever Brady is playing with and then follow me around asking me to put pieces back together- immediately taking them apart and getting upset all over again over and over and over. One afternoon I was on a quick phone call with my grandma and couldn't immediately put his guy in the car. It was all a little too much for him.

Oh, the drama! Blessed will be the day that this boy figures out how to click his own Lego pieces together!

The last day of school was on May 30. The kids went for about an hour and a half- so that gave us a whole day to kick off the summer right! Since we were flying out for Beach Week the following day, we decided to try and make the most of our one (half) day of summer before we left. We ended up going with some friends to a park with a fun network of little trails and have a picnic lunch followed by some geocaching. The boys have been so excited about geocaching ever since my friend showed them a geocache site a few weeks ago when we were on a bike ride.

It took longer than expected to get out of the house so we ended up eating lunch right when we got to the park. Then we explored the trails for quite a while. Unfortunately, we were unsuccessful in finding any geocache sites but the kids still had fun- and now it just means that we will have to go out and try again sometime! Our neighbors down the street had set up a big inflatable water slide and pool and had texted us just as we were leaving on our picnic/geocaching adventure so no one was too upset about going home and checking out the water party down the street. The kids had a blast getting soaked in their play clothes- I had already packed up their suits to go to the beach the next day- and Camden took an epic nap afterward. It was fun to come home so tired after a day of fun out in the sun! Bring on the Summer!

Saturday morning was Ryan's last soccer game of the season. This little team has been together since last Fall and they have all improved so much! Anne and Spencer came to watch the final game and it was a good one. The coach brought donuts and drinks for after the game. I intercepted and made everyone sit for a picture before they got their treats- possibly not the most popular move on my part but I'd do it all over again. It's fun to have a picture of their little team all together And for the record, all the other parents got out their cameras and started taking pictures too. You're welcome.
