The next day (Christmas Eve), we flew home to Virginia to spend Christmas with our family. During the layover in Denver we let Ryan have a piece of bread from our sandwiches. Who knew bread could make a boy so happy?!
My dad picked us up at the airport. Ryan was great on both flights. He slept for most of the time. Here he is with my dad wearing his cool Peruvian sweater my dad got him for Christmas.
Ryan spent most of Christmas morning on my sister, Anne's, lap. He really liked the idea of opening presents and ripping the wrapping paper. This picture shows how focused he was on ripping the paper. Apparently, it was really hard work!
There's a smile!
This was the first Christmas in a long time that we had everyone home for the holidays. Chris and Rachel came up from Charlottesville and my sister, Anne was home from BYU-Idaho. We had one of our neighbors come over and capture this momentous occasion on film. This is an especially special picture because it is the last time the whole family will be together for atleast two years since Anne leaves for her mission in March! The whole Bailey Fam:
Chris and Rachel brought the game, Settler's of Catan. We played it a lot! Lucky for us, Zach's parents have the game too, so the "Settling" continued long after Chris and Rachel went home.
Ryan loved hanging out with his aunt Lindsey over break. Lindsey was a good sport and I think she enjoyed hanging out with him too. If she didn't, she hid it well. One night we all went to see the movie, Marley and Me and Lindsey agreed to stay home with Ryan. While we were gone, Ryan had a huge blow out and there were only three wipes in the daiper bag we left for Lindsey. Poor girl, she had to use tissues to clean up the mess. It got all over his clothes and the changing pad. Suprisingly, Lindsey still agreed to watch him whenever we needed it. Now, THAT is love!
Both Ryan and I enjoyed all the time we spent with Zach. It was so great to have time together as a family without the stresses of work and school. We had so much fun!
I was lucky enough to see my best friend, Kathryn! We met up for lunch one day and it was so fun to catch up! This was a last minute picture and I am so glad we actually thought to take one!
It was so sad to say goodbye to my sisters and the rest of my family. Hopefully, Lindsey will come out to visit us in Vegas over her spring break in April.
Unless we make it up to Utah when Anne reports to the MTC in March, this is our last picture together for the next two years. I know she will make a great missionary, but we are going to miss her so much!
We flew back to Utah on January 6th and the very next day we drove down to Vegas to start our new life down here! Ryan is a great traveler and did so well in the car. He was able to take two really long naps and we only stopped twice! We are such lucky parents!
We made it safely to Las Vegas yesterday and even found a place to live! We are going to rent a house in Summerlin for a few months and then hopefully buy a house of our own. We are so excited about our rental. It is such a nice home! If everything goes as planned we will move in tomrrow. I will post some pictures after we move in. We are so excited for Zach to start his job on Monday and to start our house hunting! Thank you to everyone who helped us with our move! We already miss all our family and friends in Utah, but we are excited to reconnect with old friends and make new friends here in Vegas.P.S. Our house has an extra room, so you have to come visit! We can't wait to see you!!!

Those are such great pictures. It really is hard to handle how cute Ryan is. Wow that was a lot of snow, huh? You moving seems to trigger the snow, because the one day you were back had a lot of snow, too! I love the family picture. That turned out great. Moments with all of the family do get more and more precious as we get older. I am way excited that you already found an apartment! I'm assuming it had the flexible leasing agreement you were hoping for. The new people finally moved in next door, at least someone is parking a car next to us again. Sigh. It's not your car, but I'm so excited about your new start!
So fun! I'm so excited for you! How great to move and start Zach's career and buy a house! Good luck with everything! If i'm ever in vegas i'll look you up!
SUmmerlin!!!!!! That's where Mally's family lives!!!! I wonder if you guys live near each other....
I'm so sad we didn't get to say goodbye, but good luck in Vegas! We'll be sure to keep checking your blog to see how you're doing!
